Acupuncture involves inserting very fine, single-use needles into specific acupuncture points on the body. This helps to regulate the flow of energy, Qi, and blood throughout the acupuncture channels which encourages one's own inherent ability to restore balance and alleviate any pain.
Disease and pain only arise when Qi gets stagnant or stuck, and acupuncture treatments are about returning that free flow and balance to the body. Moxibustion, electrical stimulation, cupping and/or heat may be added into the treatment to warm the body, invigorate the flow of Qi and blood and alleviate pain.
